1.       Library Rules and Regulations
2.       ILL: extended client base & survey
3.       Book orders
4.       Labelling of books on level 4.
5.       One Book One Library

1.       Library Rules and Regulations
As mentioned in the previous post (5 Aug) the above mentioned has been updated. The updated version is now available on the webpage. Please note the content of points 10 and 11 which have been added to the previous document:
2.       ILL: extended client base & survey
The ILL client bases have been extended, as communicated to you in the email of 12 Aug, to include honours students, 4th year undergraduate and BTech students.
From 15 to 30 August all ILL clients will be requested to complete a survey form. The reason for the survey is to get feedback from our clients regarding the quality of ILL services. Survey forms can be obtained from Heila and Subject/Faculty Librarians are requested to assist with the handing out of the form to ILL clients. Completed forms can also be forwarded to Heila.
3.       Book orders
A friendly reminder to forward any material that you would like to order on the general fund to me on or before 30 August. Items that were mentioned in monthly reports have already been ordered. I am currently in process of identifying frequently used titles of the study collection to establish if additional copies of these titles must be ordered.
4.       Labelling of books on level 4.
After the completion of the Dewey project, there we still two rows of books on level 4 that need to get Dewey labels. The team leaders agreed that all departments will assist in pasting labels on books. Each department will receive one trolley of books, with their new labels, per day. We kindly request you to put the labels on the books by using the corresponding Zastrau numbers and barcodes. Once the trolley is finished, it can be taken to the sorting shelves next to circulation. Shelving staff will be preparing four trollies per day to be distributed to:
Circulation – please ask the student assistants to help with this as well.
ILL – All ILL staff agreed to assist.
Information Services – Doreen and the staff member at the roving desk will assist.
Level 2 – Janina and Vivian will also do one trolley per day.
Thank you so much for helping with this, it should not take longer than two weeks to finish the relabeling.
5.       One Book One Library
I finished reading Devil’s peak by Deon Meyer this week and I must admit that it is one of the best books I have ever read. For those of you who have not yet read the book, I would really suggest that you do so. I have to warn you though, once you start reading, it is very difficult to put the book down.
Students and staff will also be able to meet Deon Meyer in October:  APK: Tuesday, 18 Oct @ 12h00.
