Staff photographs
We need to update our information on the web page and would like to include photographs of each and every staff member. UJ requires that the pictures be taken in a studio against a UJ background. All pictures will be taken on 9 February in the B5 Building at APK from 8:30 to 10am.
General Staff Meeting
We had our first staff meeting for the year this morning and I want to sincerely thank the people who attended. That said, I do realise that it was not possible for everyone to come to the meeting as service to our clients had to continue. Flowers at Circulation
I am sure all of you noticed the beautiful flowers at Circulation (see picture below). In case you are wondering where it comes from, these flowers send given to Dr Bawa from Mrs Zanele Mbeki (wife of former president Thabo Mbeki).
Moving of books
Last year we started to separate the theses and dissertations per level and progress is as follows:
Level 1: Completed and shelves marked accordingly
Level 2: Halfway with moving theses to the shelves on the left. Shelves of general collection marked.
Level 3: Same as level 2.
Level 4: Completed and shelves marked accordingly.
Level 5: Not yet started. Will be done during the recess.
We also started relabelling books with no Dewey number in the Reference Collection. Items that were relabelled were shelved at the Dewey side. Our aim is to finish the Reference Collection by the end of April.
Classes are starting next week and I want to wish all of you good luck for the first term: let's nail it!
